What creates this space—- the chandelier, the “electric hypnosis” of the TV screen, or the combination of both?  What is most interesting to notice from the perspective of design is the way in which the two, although so disparate in size, compete absolutely for attention.  

They do, and what a powerful piece of art to make. Tradition vs modernity, big vs small, object vs flat screen, all kinds of opposites, yet the two seem perfectly  balanced.
